Support foreigners in Japan

There are over 30,000 children with foreign origin in Japan that need teaching of Japanese. There are children that were brought to Japan by their parents that decided to immigrate or live in Japan for unskilled labor, etc. Many struggle with the language, culture and customs or poverty of their parents. Amongst them there are children that are suffering from bullying, abuse from parents, juvenile delinquency or hikikomori. This activity supports these children for example by creating a place for them to belong to or by supporting their education.

The importance of supporting the education and development of children with foreign origin

The number of foreign residents in Japan has increased to 2.56 million, highest on record historically, as the nation struggles with labor shortage and decreasing population. On the other hand, foreigners living in Japan have had to struggle with an extremely unstable position under the government’s policy against accepting immigration. As their children fell out of the system for compulsory education, the number of children without education has continued to increase. However, as in the case with Silicon Valley IT companies in the US, amongst the second generation immigrants there can be someone that grows into a talent to lead the future of Japan.
Please join us in supporting the education of youth with foreign origin so that they can lead the future of this world together with Japanese youngsters.

YSC Global School

We support education of children with foreign origin by providing opportunities such as learning Japanese from professionals and receiving support to enroll in high school. We support 100 children a year from over 30 countries and have also started online teaching lessons from 2016 which allows us to reach out to children across Japan that live in regions with little available support.

At Oizumi Town, Gunma Prefecture, where a number of foreigners including Brazilians live, we wanted to give learning opportunities and hope to children with foreign nationalities. We have been organizing a festival every year where children perform what they are good at, such as playing an instrument or any other performance, so that they can feel proud of themselves regardless of nationalities. We also organize activities where foreign residents and local residents teach each other their own culture.
